TYPE: CAST IRON RING
1. ALLOY INDEFINITE CHILLED CAST IRON ROLLS
◆ SUMMARY It is a kind of cast iron roll with fine intercrystalline graphite evenly distributed throughout its working layer. It is shaped by Centrifugal Casting Machine, or by gravity casting.
◆ CHARACTERISTICS |
◇ In its microstructure, the size, shape and distribution of graphite and carbide are controlled by chilling effect and the contents of alloy elements.
◇ The matrix microstructure can be changed from Bearlite, Bainite to Martensite through adding alloy
elements such as Manganese, Nickel, Chromium, Molybdenum etc.
◇ The small amount of fine graphite in its matrix enhances the roll’s resistance to brittle crack, thermal crack and its wearability.
